Black Currant Lake
The Assinka River flows from Meat Lake for more than 20 miles (32km) before entering Black Currant Lake which is situated in the Atikaki Provincial Park. The cabin is located on the only island in the middle of the lake and is an excellent all-season walleye lake because of its depth and structure. Black Currant Lake is 3 miles (5km) wide and 4 miles (6.5km) long. Depth exceeds 50 feet (15m) in some areas with the main lake ranging from 24′ to 32′ (7-10m) in depth. Walleye average 18"-24" (46-61cm) and Northern Pike average 27"-40" (69-102cm), with many master anglers.
This comfortable and well-cared-for six-person frame cabin has a screen porch, a full kitchen with a large fridge/freezer, propane stove, hot & cold running water, indoor bathroom and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with all pots, pans, utensils & dishes. Outside a propane BBQ and fish cooker are supplied. The site has solar power and a wood stove for heat. We are the only outfitter on this lake.
