Black Currant Lake

Introduction

The Outpost

The Assinka River flows from Meat Lake for more than 20 miles (32km) before entering Black Currant Lake which is situated in the Atikaki Provincial Park. The cabin is located on the only island in the middle of the lake and is an excellent all-season walleye lake because of its depth and structure. Black Currant Lake is 3 miles (5km) wide and 4 miles (6.5km) long. Depth exceeds 50 feet (15m) in some areas with the main lake ranging from 24′ to 32′ (7-10m) in depth.
